Sneaked in to see an early morn show of Shirin Farhad ki toh nikal padi... Sanjay leela bhansali had guts to back up a full on bawa movie...
Boman Irani hits bang on.. He is one parsee actor who has acted back to back in two parsee characters(ferari) without hamming the typical bawagiri, hindi films always portrayed. He bowls u over with his simplicity and gives ace clsss performance in some real emotional scenes without dragging it too far. Bela how did u manage to make shammi aunty act. The last time i saw her in a friends party she could hardly speak. She is amazing and puts in a lively performance. Daisy irani proves once an actor always an actor. The parsee colony meeting is overdone or perhaps just for that little cinematic liberty. Or perhaps my lack of knowledge since i havent ever lived in a parsee colony. I admire Farha khan as a choreographer and a director so i shall be a little biased towards her though she appeared uncomfortable at times but than that it self works for her at times in some scenes. She most of times is her natural self and carries on her sense of humour with ease. In the scene when she tells boman to go away and returns the ring you can notice traces of her actual acting talent waiting to pour. She carries herself sportingly even in the most hilarious of scenes completely relying on bela's vision. The 40 plus love story with simple complications with an overloving mother works... In times when tigers are roaring of 150 crore plus business... I suppose shirin farhad will slowly pick up with word of mouth publicity and make a decent margin and surely atleast bring a smile on many faces sanjay leela bhansali included.
